The amendment moves stand-alone high-risk AI systems to 2 Dec 2027, product-safety safety-component AI systems to 2 Aug 2028, machine-readable AI-content labelling to 2 Dec 2026, and adds a ban targeting AI nudifier and CSAM-generation systems.

On June 10, 2026, the European Commission published the final Code of Practice on Transparency of AI-Generated Content — establishing the compliance path for Article 50 of the AI Act. Providers must embed machine-readable watermarks in all AI outputs; deployers must label deepfakes and disclose AI-generated news text. Core obligations are legally binding from August 2, 2026, with a watermarking grace period to December 2, 2026.
